The Friends of the Seneca County Park District was established in 1999. This group of people expressed an interest in the newly created Seneca County Park District. Through the years this group has grown to over 100 members. A Friends of the SCPD board was established and monthly meetings are held at 6:00 PM on the second Wednesday of each month at the RTA building in downtown Tiffin. The public is invited to attend. In 2002, The Friends of SCPD sought and obtained a 501C3 status. The primary purpose of this organization is to support the mission of the Seneca County Park District. Monetary support from the Friends includes park programming supplies and maintenance requirements, while volunteers provide many hours of support grooming trails, maintaining gardens and helping at park events. The largest fundraiser for The Friends is the annual Oktober Fest. Without this event, the Friends could not function as a supporting group.
