
Tiffin University Nature Preserve 2375 W CO Road 26 Tiffin, Ohio The Tiffin University Nature Preserve is a regionally significant ecosystem. It was dedicated on June 5, 2007. This more than one million dollar riparian restoration was made possible through a partnership between the University, the W.K. Kellogg foundtion, The Seneca County Park District and the State of Ohio. The Nature Preserve features a 1.23 mile hiking trail focusing on a two-acre restored wetland and vernal pool complex that has enhanced biological diversity in Seneca County. The streamside forested walkway is highlighted by three bridges, picnic areas and a gazebo. The preserve provides a naturalistic setting for informal and formal university gatherings and learning experiences, as well as providing access to natrureal areas for Tiffin and Seneca County citizens. Opportunity Park 780 East CO Road 20 Tiffin, Ohio The Opportunity Park became a reality in 2006 with funding assistance from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and is open to the public. Access to the park is off south SR 100 and TR 151 on east CR 20. It is on the site if the Seneca County Opportunity Center that provides serviced to children with delays and adults with disabilities. The park is located in a rural setting with adjacent farm fields. The park consists of an 820 foot fully accessible paved exercise track along with paved trails surrounded with many decorative bushes, tress and flowers. It also has two picnic shelters and picnic tables. It has a large fully accessible playground area. Stop, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. |
