For ages 6-12 years. Join Linda Rose as we discover how animals use mud in the construction of their homes. Wear old shoes or boots as we gather mud to do some construction of our own. Registration is required.
Spend the morning looking and listening to the sights and sounds of nature in the preserve as you walk the trails with Linda Rose. Binoculars are helpful. This walk qualifies for the Walking Stick Program and lasts about 1¼ hours. Registration is required.
Join Linda Rose at the pond as we learn about the age-old turtles of Ohio & what they eat, where they live, and their life cycles. We will go for a short turtle hike and then examine some up close. Dress to be outdoors for this event. Registration is required.
Join Linda Rose as we walk under the light of the 'Strawberry Moon." This walk will last about 1 to 1 ½ hours and qualifies for the Walking Stick Program. Registration is required.
For ages 18 to 36 months. Join Linda Rose as we learn the very basics of fishing and try our hand at catching some in the pond. Fishing poles and bait are provided or bring your own if you wish. Dress to be outside. Registration is required.
Ever wonder about the mammals that might visit your backyard? Join Linda Rose as we explore furs, skulls, scat, and tracks of these critters. All ages are welcome. Registration is required.
Spend the afternoon with any age, any combination of grandpa, dad, son, and grandson learning about the great outdoors—fishing, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, and more. Registration is required.
For ages 3 to 5 years. Join Linda Rose as we explore the mud kitchen and create some delicious mud recipes. Come join the fun and dress to get dirty! Registration is required.
Join Linda Rose on the path as we learn about the summer solstice and explore what is happening in the preserve. This walk will last about 1¼ hours and qualifies for the Walking Stick Program. Registration is required.
For ages 12 to 17 years and older. Join Linda Rose as we hunt for puzzle pieces to discover how everything is connected. Dress to be outdoors. Registration is required.
Spend the first day of summer on the pond paddling around and enjoying the sights that nature has to offer. Canoes, kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are provided. Registration is required as there is a limited number of canoes and kayaks.
