Spend the morning looking and listening to the sights and sounds of nature in the preserve as you walk the trails with Linda Rose. Binoculars helpful. This walk qualifies for the Walking Stick Program and lasts about 1 ¼ hour. Registration is required.

Join Linda Rose in the grasslands and trails as we look for these eight-legged creatures. Learn their differences, life cycles and then go on a spider hunt. Nets provided or bring your own. Registration is required.

For ages 18 to 36 months. Join Linda Rose as we walk the wetland trails looking for frogs. Learn the differences between frogs and toads, their habitats and life cycles. Registration is required.

Join Linda Rose for an afternoon of decorating your own walking stick taken from nature or bring your own. All other supplies provided. Bring your creativity for a fun-filled hour. Registration is required.

For ages 5 to 12 years. Join Linda Rose as we walk the trails and learn the basics of “birdology.” Discover how to identify birds through a variety of ways and start your own life list. Binocularshelpful if you have them. Registration is required.

For youth ages 12 to 17 years and older. Join Linda Rose as we explore the world of hummingbirds. Learn some interesting facts about these small, but mighty birds. Registration is required.

Join Linda Rose as we walk under the light of the “Buck Moon.” This walk will last about 1 to 1¼ hours and qualifies for the Walking Stick Program. Registration is required.

Spend the afternoon looking at the photo entries and then enjoy a walk in the park!

For ages 3 to 5 years. Join Linda Rose as we try to catch some fish in the pond. Fishing poles and bait provided or bring your own. Registration is required.

Become Tom Sawyer for the afternoon as we read a short story about his life and then re-enact an adventure. Dress to get dirty and wet. Old shoes or boots recommended. Registration is required.

Join Linda Rose to learn the basics of archery and then try to hit the target. All supplies provided. Ages 10 years and older. Limited registration. Registration is required.

Spend the morning with Linda Rose on the pond paddling around and enjoying the sights that nature has to offer. Canoes, kayaks, paddles and life jackets are provided. Registration is required.

Join us for the opening of the new section of trail at Mercy Community Nature Preserve. The entrance, located off the end of the parking lot, will lead visitors on a natural surface trail, meandering through the wooded hillside, north of the creek.

Join Linda Rose as we explore the trails to appreciate what is blooming in the prairie. This walk will last about 1 1/4 hours and qualifies for the Walking Stick Program. Registration is required.

Become an American Girl for an afternoon as we read a short chapter, then prepare for a project that an American Girl would do. Join Linda Rose in a weaving project. All supplies provided. Registration is required.
