PICNIC SHELTERS
The picnic shelters can be reserved from April - October when not in use for a park event. Shelter reservations have priority use; otherwise, shelter use is on a first-come, first-use basis. Reservations are taken up to 6 months in advance. Reservations can be made with the Park District by completing the Reservation Request at the top of the page, by calling the Park Office at (419) 447-8091, by emailing info@senecacountyparks.com, or can be made in person during office hours. Office hours for the SCPD Main Office are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Tuesday and variable on Wednesday - Friday. Click here to view the shelter rental agreement.
All reservations must be made at least one week in advance.
RENTAL RATES (per day, sunrise-sunset):
- Shelters: $50
- Gazebo: $25
Cleanup is the renter’s responsibility, Carry-in, Carry-out trash policy.
Opportunity Park Shelters cannot be reserved (first come, first serve basis only).

ACTIVITY ROOM & COVERED PORCH
The Activity Room & Webster Foundation Outdoor Education Area is located inside the Robert G. Teach Nature Education Center, at Fruth Wetland Nature Preserve. The space can be reserved year round when not in use for park events. Reservations can be made with the Park District by completing the Reservation Request at the top of the page, by calling the Park Office at (419) 447-8091, by emailing info@senecacountyparks.com, or can be made in person during office hours. Office hours for the SCPD Main Office are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Tuesday and variable on Wednesday - Friday. All reservations must be made at least one week in advance, but no more than one year in advance of the desired date. Click here to view the activity room rental agreement.
SPACE:
- Activity Room: 38' x 34' (1292 sq ft), max 86 ppl (standing only), around 54 ppl for most seated layouts with tables
- Covered Porch: 62' x 22' (1364 sq ft), max 64 ppl
RENTAL RATES (per day): 8 AM – 11 PM (including setup & cleanup)
- Fri–Sun & Holidays: $350 | $250 nonprofit
- Mon–Thurs: $250 | $150 nonprofit
EARLY ENTRY (evening before, if available):
- Thurs–Sat: $150 | $100 nonprofit
- Sun–Wed: $100 | $100 nonprofit
SECURITY DEPOSIT: $200 cash (due at key pickup)
INCLUDES:
- 18 conference tables (6’x18”), 10 rectangle tables (8’x30”), 120 folding chairs (renter sets up)
- Standard fridge, sink, & counter (no kitchen)
- Indoor entryway & restrooms
SETUP RULES:
- Tables/chairs for indoor & porch use only
- No setup in grass/woods
- No candles, fog machines, glitter, staples, or affixing decorations to walls
PARKING:
- Paved parking lot has 49 standard parking spaces and 2 handicapped spaces
- Parking in main lot only (gravel drop-off zone is not for parking)
- No parking on grass
OTHER:
- No smoking of any kind on park property
- No food/beverage sales (unless approved 501c3)
CLEANUP REQUIRED:
- Cleanup is the renter’s responsibility
- Trash must be emptied into the outside dumpster
CANCELLATION:
- 90+ days before = full refund minus $40 + card fees
- Less than 90 days = no refunds
KEY PICKUP/RETURN:
- Pickup: Mon–Wed before event (8:30–4 PM)
- Return: Mon– Wed after event (8:30–4 PM)
