Each month in 2026, a cut-out of a forest friend will be placed in a different nature preserve!  Search for this forest friend using the clues provided below.  Write down the forest freind's name, number, and park location on the Forest Friends Log Sheet .  Twelve different nature preserves, twelve different forest friends to find! Friends will be up for the remainder of the year once placed. Submit your findings beginning in December 2026 as this is a year long event. Find all 12 friends to claim a small prize! Log sheets due by January 15, 2027.

FOREST FRIENDS LOG SHEET

CLUES

January—This easterly preserve is home to a woodlot, a wetland and LOTS of grasslands.

February—A cooperative preserve, an Indian symbol greets you as you enter the woods.

March—This preserve will give you a cardiac workout with its ups and downs, while flowing water borders its north side.

April—This preserve connects to a Tiffin City Park and is a closed road on old maps.

May—In its previous life, this preserve cared for an aging population and a dammed river.

June—This preserve is the county's largest county park and home to Ohio’s first nature-based preschool.

July—This preserve is our smallest and sits between bulls and seniors.

August—Hidden behind SCOC, this park has paved paths and a playground.

September—This westerly preserve served as a Camp Fire Camp and soccer fields years ago.

October—This preserve is our newest park with two parcels separated by running water.

November—A cooperative preserve, a branch of “a howling animal” creek runs through it.

December—This preserve has a lower and upper part with a  ”sweet” creek running through it.
