Backpackin’ Babies—Wonderful Water

For ages birth to 18 months. Babies need the great outdoors as much as older youth and adults do. They need fresh air, new environments to explore and learn more than we think. Spend the morning with Linda Rose in Honey Creek—will we see fish, crayfish, snails or other creepy critters. Please bring an extra set of clothes as we will get wet. Bats are often misunderstood animals and there are lots of myths associated with them. They are extremely helpful to people. Join Angie Ford as she discusses the positive benefits from their presence. Find out why bats are the “cornerstone species” and how you can encourage bats to share your property and reap the benefits. Magnificent Monarchs

Seneca History Hike

Take a walk into the past with Angie Ford as we learn about some of the amazing historical stories surrounding Seneca County. The Sandusky River was once a highly traveled route utilized by many early citizens of the Northwest Territory. Water Quality Monitoring

Water quality is a big deal to many states and countries currently. Join Angie Ford as you wade into the creek and look for physical hints that can tell us the health of our county streams. All programs are free (unless otherwise noted) and open to the public. Social distancing and current protocols by ODH and CDC will be maintained.

REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY REQUIRED FOR ALL PROGRAMS unless they are designated with "No Registration Required"

WALKING STICK PROGRAM:

Three hikes are offered each month.  One hike is at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve and is a nature walk bird talk.  The second hike is always at a different nature preserve with a different theme. And the third hike is a Full Moon Hike.  Attend 4 hikes and earn your walking stick.  Attend another four hikes and earn a medallion and so on.   Just sign in with the naturalist.  No time limits for earning your walking stick.  Benefits include: getting a little exercise, seeing some awesome wildlife, meeting some new people on the trail and last, but not least, it is fun!

 

WALK & WREAD:
Once a month walk the Storybook Trail at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve for a new story. Walk and read at your leisure. Read six books and earn a prize. Co-sponsored with Bliss Public Library, Bloomville.
